Founded in 2026, Apex Marine Surveys was established by Captain Ihab Shaaban following 15 years of progressive experience in the maritime industry. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transport, Captain Ihab served for nine years onboard multiple vessel types, advancing through senior ranks until obtaining an Unlimited Master Certificate of Competence in 2022 (STCW II/2).

Transitioning ashore, he built six years of solid experience in marine and cargo surveying, successfully managing hundreds of inspection and claims cases involving vessel condition surveys, draft and ullage surveys, cargo damage investigations, and P&I assignments. His operational background as Master Mariner provides AMS with practical command-level insight into ship operations, charter party obligations, safety compliance, and commercial risk exposure.

Captain Ihab is a Full Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS), Member No. S1893, and holds a valid Master Mariner Certificate of Competence II/2.
